91��ý

On October 17, 2019, 91��ý, faculty, staff and members of John Spencer’s family joined together to celebrate the appointment of the first John Kyle Spencer Director of Environmental Studies, Professor Robert Humston.  Professor Humston presented a talk titled, “Environmental Optimism is not an Oxymoron”.  The presentation reviewed recent progress in Environmental Studies at W&L, and future directions for the program in light of expectations for the future of our environment.  The presentation was followed by a reception where everyone enjoyed discussing Prof. Humston’s lecture as well as sharing stories about John Spencer ’13.
