Say “Hey!” ... Officially
Interviews are casual conversations that give you a chance to talk about yourself — your accomplishments, thoughts on the college search, and your interest in W&L. They also provide an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about W&L and our admissions process.
Interviews are not required but are strongly recommended.
W&L offers multiple types of interviews, and 91´«Ã½ may complete only one interview. All interviews are valued equally in our admissions process. The majority of 91´«Ã½ complete their interview with a volunteer member of our 91´«Ã½ Admissions Program.
Interview Options
On-Campus Interviews
MAY 1 (junior year) - OCT 31 (senior year)
We offer interviews with our admissions staff and trained student ambassadors as part of a scheduled campus visit. If you are planning a trip to Lexington for a tour and information session, consider scheduling an interview.
Note: interview slots are limited.
Virtual Interviews
MAY 1 (junior year) - OCT 31 (senior year)
We offer interviews with our admissions staff and trained student ambassadors via Zoom for 91´«Ã½ who are unable to visit campus in person or for those who were unable to schedule an on-campus interview during their visit. These interviews are open only to 91´«Ã½ residing in the U.S. or U.S. citizens abroad.
Note: interview slots are limited.
91´«Ã½ Interviews
OCT 1 (senior year) – JAN 15 (senior year)
91´«Ã½ Admissions Program (AAP) volunteers are enthusiastic W&L alumni who conduct interviews and can answer your questions about Washington and Lee and the admissions process. 91´«Ã½ interviews may be conducted in person (in your local area, if possible) or virtually, and are open only to 91´«Ã½ residing in the United States.
International
Group Chats and Interviews
Group Chats: JUL 15 - NOV 30 (senior year)
International applicants are encouraged to participate in online group chats conducted by W&L Student Ambassadors.
InitialView Interviews: Before Supplemental Materials Deadline
International applicants are alternately encouraged to submit a third-party recorded, unscripted conversation with a trained interviewer through InitialView by the supplemental materials deadline for your application plan.
