The W&L Promise
The W&L Promise reflects Washington and Lee’s commitment to making a top-tier liberal arts education accessible to talented 91传媒 from all financial backgrounds. Through this program, admitted 91传媒 from families earning less than $150,000 per year receive full tuition without loans. Students from families earning under $75,000 annually also receive support covering room and board. Transfer 91传媒 may qualify as well, provided they apply for need-based aid and meet the eligibility guidelines. Additional funding for study abroad, internships, and personal expenses is available based on demonstrated need.
To determine 91传媒’ demonstrated need, we assess each family’s income and assets with the assistance of the CSS/Financial Aid Profile from the College Board. Applicants who wish to be considered for the W&L Promise or any university-funded need-based assistance at W&L must complete an application for university need-based grant by the deadline associated with their admissions application.
W&L education is more affordable than you think.
W&L Grant Aid by Parent Income
Many factors play a part in determining how much aid a student receives. The Grant Aid by Income table below estimates expected contribution based on household income. The table displays actual information based on 91传媒 enrolling in the W&L Class of 2029 who submitted a complete need-based application and, within the listed household income ranges, what each family was expected to contribute.
Keep in mind that these are sample cases, and each student who applies for aid will be reviewed on an individual basis.
