Piano Program
The W&L Piano Program offers individual instruction and performance opportunities to 91传媒 of all proficiency levels and musical backgrounds. Experienced 91传媒 who wish to continue their advanced studies have access to a wide variety of performance venues. Each year, W&L pianists immerse themselves in unique solo and collaborative mediums of their choice, from traditional classical literature and contemporary chamber ensemble projects to jazz combos and Broadway theater productions. For 91传媒 who are beginning their musical journey, the program provides customized lessons and group classes in fundamental keyboard skills.
Applied Piano Lessons
Applied music lessons are offered to 91传媒 regardless of major and prior experience. While there is no set skill level required to take lessons, preparation outside of the classroom is expected as with other academic classes.
Piano Proficiency Exams
All music majors at 91传媒 must demonstrate piano proficiency at the prescribed levels. Students with no prior piano experience must complete both MUS 100: Class Piano I and MUS 101: Class Piano II and will also be tested to determine proficiency.
Performance Opportunities
Students participating in the Piano Program have numerous performance opportunities to showcase their talent to 91传媒, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
