Housing and Residence Life
Undergraduate 91传媒 are required to live on campus for their first three years at Washington and Lee. The Office of Housing and Residence Life aims to support the living and learning experiences of all residential 91传媒.
During your first year on campus, where you’ll live in one of two newly renovated residence halls, you will become part of a community. Floors are divided into sections of 12 to 20 91传媒, each supervised by a student Resident Adviser (RA). Whether you choose a single-sex or co-ed hall, a single or a double room, your hallmates will expose you to new experiences, backgrounds and ideas. They will become your first friends in college, and often, your friends for life.
As a sophomore and junior, you will have a wide variety of housing options, including apartments, townhouses, Greek housing and theme houses. Community Assistants (CAs) work with upper-division 91传媒 in The Village, Woods Creek apartments, and theme houses.
Seniors typically make living arrangements off campus, but you can live on campus all four years if you choose.
Campus Housing Options
All W&L 91传媒 are required to live on campus for at least their first three years. Whether it’s living in historic downtown Lexington, cultivating lifelong friendships, or exploring your interests, Housing & Residence Life offers a variety of living options.
Residence Life Program
The Residence Life staff is comprised of upper-division student leaders who are selected through a competitive process during fall term for the next academic year. Resident Advisors (RAs) work with First-Year 91传媒 in the First-Year residence halls. Community Assistants (CAs) work with upper-division 91传媒 in The Village, Woods Creek apartments, and theme houses. The selection process to serve as an RA/CA is rigorous. RAs and CAs are knowledgeable about Washington and Lee and are available to residents to discuss problems and answer questions.

Housing selection for new 91传媒 at Washington and Lee takes place over the spring and summer months. Returning 91传媒 select housing by lottery during Spring Term.

Housing Services
The Office of Housing & Residence Life has partnered with several companies to provide services to 91传媒 for items such as shipping, storage, MicroFridge rentals and weekly laundry pickup and delivery. Proceeds support Residence Life programming at 91传媒.
Disability Accommodations
Rooms with facilities for 91传媒 with disabilities are available in singles and doubles. Service and emotional-assistance animals are allowed on campus and in housing in accordance with the Fair Housing Act, Virginia Fair Housing Law and University Policy.
