Treatment Services

In this collaborative initial meeting, a student and clinician explore a specific concern, how it impacts the student’s daily functioning, and what improved wellbeing might look like. Potential next steps are discussed, which may include ongoing services at the Lindley Counseling or referrals to campus or community resources. A Wellness Consult may also serve as a one-time meeting.

Individual counseling is a confidential, one-on-one process focused on exploring a student’s most pressing concerns and working toward greater clarity, relief, and resilience. Sessions often blend insight-oriented exploration with practical skill-building to support meaningful growth and change. While there are no session limits, most 91´«Ã½ benefit from short-term, goal-oriented counseling. Students new to Lindley Counseling must attend a Wellness Consult before considering this service.

Group counseling is a confidential, therapist-facilitated space where 91´«Ã½ with shared concerns or goals come together for support, connection, and growth. Groups may focus on exploring a specific topic, sharing personal experiences, or practicing new coping skills in a supportive environment. Students new to Lindley Counseling must attend a Wellness Consult before considering this service. Established 91´«Ã½ may receive a referral through their individual counselor.

Medication management is available to 91´«Ã½ who may benefit from additional support in addressing ongoing symptoms. Our staff psychiatrist or a Lindley Health provider will assess a student’s current functioning, evaluate the effectiveness of a current regiment, and adjust medication as needed throughout treatment. Students new to Lindley Counseling must attend a Wellness Consult before considering this service.

Case management services connect 91´«Ã½ with helpful resources and support systems, both on and off campus. These services may involve assessing practical needs, making referrals, advocating for access to services, and working with other providers to ensure coordinated care. The goal is to support 91´«Ã½ in addressing barriers that may impact their overall well-being and academic success. Students new to Lindley Counseling must attend a Wellness Consult before considering this service.

Crisis Triage

Crisis Triage are same-day appointments that focus on rapid assessment, safety planning, and coordination of appropriate interventions. Sometimes additional assessment at a local emergency department and/or hospitalization is warranted, a process which is fully discussed with a student. Crisis triage is appropriate if a student is experiencing the following symptoms:

  1. Imminent thoughts of suicide, homicide, harm to self or harm to others
  2. Hallucinations, delusions and/or disorganized thinking and/or behavior
  3. Inability to sleep for two or more days WITH a decreased need for sleep
